Basketball Australia is proud to announce its landmark new international partnership with MOJO – an award-winning App – which will transform the way young players, coaches, parents and administrators connect with Aussie Hoops.

With more than 50,000 participants and 1,000 coaches in the Aussie Hoops community, this free, innovative sports platform will be a one-stop-shop for Basketball Australia’s premium introductory program for five-to-ten-year-olds.

For coaches, it will provide everything from highly produced skills and drills videos, easy-to-use practice planners, educational content, simplified team management tools and the ability to add notes and adapt drills specifically for their team.

The MOJO app will be a one-stop-shop for coaches and parents of Aussie Hoopers!

For young Aussie Hoopers and their parents, they can also access skills and drills videos to help elevate their game at home, safely and easily communicate with their coach via the messaging function and earn exclusive Basketball Australia achievements and badges through MOJO’s innovative player card feature.

Basketball Australia CEO, Matt Scriven, said he was thrilled to deliver this game changing app to Aussie Hoopers around Australia.

“The MOJO app will be a game-changer for Aussie Hoops, and we’re really excited to provide this one-stop-shop resource for parents, coaches and administrators,” Scriven said.

“Our Aussie Hoops program has seen a 20 per cent jump in participation rates in term one this year, which is a tremendous increase, and highlights the popularity of basketball with children and families across Australia.

“With MOJO’s player-focused curriculum, innovative technology and intuitive platform it will bring new expertise, elevate the program and help draw more entry-level coaches into the sport.

“Together, MOJO, Basketball Australia and our member organisations aim to enhance the experience for those in the Aussie Hoops community and continue to grow junior basketball from the grassroots up.”

CEO and founder of MOJO, Ben Sherwood, said he was looking forward to launching the program in Australia.

“Working with Basketball Australia is a thrilling next step for MOJO,” said Sherwood.

“The love of hoops and the power of sport know no boundaries, and MOJO is ready to transform the playing experience for young athletes, families and coaches across Oz and anywhere in the world.

“We are very excited to work with Basketball Australia and their member states and territories to shape how every kid in Australia learns and experiences the sport.” Chief Customer Officer at MOJO, Tom Arnett, said this initiative by BA could influence other governing bodies to do the same.

“This is a blueprint for how national governing organisations across the world can reimagine player development and family engagement in their sports and use cutting-edge technology to encourage and develop the next generation of players and coaches.”

The MOJO app for Aussie Hoops coaches, participants and their families, will be available on iOS and Android platforms from today, Tuesday 18 April.
